Police have located the body of the missing 52-year-old man who is believed to have fallen from the Katherine Bridge on Monday night.

Superintendent Megan Rowe from the Katherine Division said the body was located in the Katherine River at 6:30am today, approximately 400m downstream from where the man was last seen. 

“Police from the Territory Response Group, Metropolitan Patrol Group, Water Police and personnel from the NT Emergency Service and NT Parks and Wildlife searched extensively on foot, in boats and in helicopters.”

Police will now prepare a report for the Coroner.
