Unlawful Entry and Stealing - Two Charged - Alice Springs

Detectives from Strike Force Vega have charged two males following an unlawful entry and stealing incident in Alice Springs last week.

Detective Superintendent Travis Wurst said Police allege the two males aged 17 and 18 unlawfully entered a residence in East Side between Tuesday 25 and Wednesday 26 August and stole a purse containing cash and credit cards.

“Police allege the two males attended a service station on the Stuart Highway and Stokes Street and used the stolen credit card to purchase fuel, food and phone credit.”

Police arrested the two males yesterday and they were both charged with

  • Aggravated unlawful entry
  • Stealing
  • Criminal deception

The 17-year-old will appear in Alice Springs Youth Justice Court on 4 September 2015.

The 18-year-old will appear in Alice Springs Magistrates Court on 20 October 2015.

“Police would like to thank members of the community who responded to the call for information released into the media about this matter. This assisted in identifying those involved in committing these crimes,” Detective Superintendent Wurst said.
