Two Female Youths Charged, Stolen Vehicles Recovered

Detectives from Strike Force Trident have charged two female youths, aged 14 and 15, in relation to two stolen vehicles and several petrol drive-offs in Palmerston.

Detective Senior Sergeant Mark Stringer said Police alleged the two youths unlawfully entered a residence in Katherine on 1 April and stole a Mazda.

“Police allege the youths drove the stolen vehicle to a service station in Palmerston CBD and drove off with a quantity of petrol without paying on 4 April.

“It is also alleged the two youths stole a Ford XR6 from a business on Catalina Road, Marlow Lagoon on 7 April and drove to a service station in Durack. Police alleged the youths drove off with a quantity of petrol without paying for it.

“Detectives from Strike Force Trident arrested the pair at a residence in Moulden today and have since recovered both vehicles.”

The two youths were charged with:

Aggravated unlawful use or motor vehicle (x2)

Unlawful use of motor vehicle (x2)

Stealing - fuel drive off (x2)

They will appear in the Darwin Youth Justice Court on the 24 April.
