Trident Arrest - Darwin

Strike Force Trident members have arrested and charged a 21-year-old male following a string of unlawful entries and stealing offences committed over the past four months.

Detective Senior Sergeant Mark Stringer said it is alleged the offender unlawfully entered a property in Durack on 28 March and stole a Ford Falcon utility.  

“On Thursday morning, the alleged offender was observed driving the stolen Falcon utility around Palmerston. Police later recovered the vehicle at a residence in Moulden. 

“Located inside the vehicle was a bum bag containing eight grams of crystal methamphetamine and a controlled weapon.”      

The offender was arrested and charged with:

  • Aggravated unlawful entry (x3)
  • Stealing (x7)
  • Aggravated unlawful use of a motor vehicle (x3)
  • Possess schedule 1 drug  - trafficable quantity
  • Fail to obey direction of police officer (x2)
  • Drive in dangerous manner
  • Drive motor vehicle whilst unlicensed (x3)
  • Possess controlled weapon
  • Escape lawful custody

He was remanded in custody to appear in Darwin Magistrates Court today.

“Arresting this offender is a great result.  Having people allegedly breaking into houses, stealing cars and driving around armed, while under the influence of ice is a major concern for Police”, said Detective Senior Sergeant Stringer.
