Detectives from Southern Investigations Division have charged three males following a number of property offences and an assault committed in Alice Springs over the Easter weekend.
Detective Superintendent Brent Warren said Police will allege that two 17-year-olds and an 18-year-old male unlawfully entered a business on Undoolya Road between 6 and 7 April and stole alcohol and cash.
“Police also allege that the same two 17-year-old males unlawfully entered a residence in Gillen on 5 April, indecently assaulted a 29-year-old woman and stole property including a mobile phone and jewellery.”
“Everybody has a right to feel safe and secure in their own home, and this kind of outrageous criminal behaviour will not be tolerated. Police will continue to use every means at their disposal to target property offenders.”
The three males were arrested yesterday and charged with:
Aggravated unlawful entry
Stealing
Criminal damage
The two 17-year-olds were also charged with:
Aggravated unlawful entry
Criminal damage
Stealing
Indecent assault
Interfere with a motor vehicle.
They will appear in Alice Springs Court on 25 May.
