Major Crime Detectives have charged three people following the death of a 22-year-old man in Nightcliff.

A 27-year-old man was charged with murder.

A 31-year-old man was charged with aggravated assault.

Both men have been remanded in custody and will appear in Darwin Magistrates Court on Monday 16 February.

A 33-year-old woman has been charged with aggravated assault.

She has been remanded in custody and will appear in Darwin Magistrates court on Tuesday 17 February.

Detective Senior Sergeant Tony Henrys said Police will allege the victim was slashed with an improvised weapon during an altercation on Thursday evening. As a result of his injuries he died at the scene.

"I would like to thank members of the public who provided information and assisted Police during this investigation."
