Stealing with violence – Alyangula - Update

Alyangula Police on Groote Eylandt have arrested four people in relation to alleged stealing with violence offences.

Acting Superintendent Dan Davison said Police received a call for assistance at about 10.00pm on Sunday night where a man had been assaulted during an unlawful entry. 

“We then received reports throughout the night and into the morning of stealing and criminal damage across the township of Alyangula. 

“This morning Alyangula Police arrested four males aged 24, 25, 29 and 30. 

“We would like to thank members of the community who assisted Police with their inquiries.

Acting Superintendent Davison said Detectives and Crime Scene Examiners from the Northern Investigation Section had been working hard at the various crime scenes and that investigations were continuing.

“Police believe there may be further offenders involved and encourage anyone who may have been a victim or who may be able to assist with information in this investigation to call Police on 131 444 or contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.”
