Alice Springs Police have charged a 38-year-old woman in relation to a stabbing incident yesterday morning.

Detective Senior Sergeant Peter Dash said the woman and a 38-year-old man were involved in an altercation on Todd Street at around 9:15am.

“Police allege the offender stabbed the victim and fled the area. Members of the public assisted the man and provided first aid until emergency services arrived and he was taken to Alice Springs Hospital.

“The woman was arrested by Police a short time later and charged with cause serious harm and armed with an offensive weapon.”

She will appear in Alice Springs Magistrates Court today.

Police would like to thank the public for providing assistance to the 38-year-old man yesterday.
