Detectives from the Southern Investigation Division are investigating a sexual assault that occurred in Alice Springs last night.

Detective Acting Superintendent Peter Malley said Police received a report that a 50-year-old woman was sexually assaulted on Stuart Terrace, near Telegraph Terrace, at around 11:30pm.

“A crime scene has been established and investigations are ongoing.

“Police would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed any suspicious activity near Billy Goat Hill between 11pm and midnight, or anyone with any further information to please contact Police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.”
