As a result of being made aware of details surrounding the circumstances which led to the resignation of the former Commissioner of Police, the Acting Commissioner of the Northern Territory Police Force, Reece Kershaw, has suspended a Senior Police Officer.

 “I have taken this action to enable a thorough investigation in to the matters that have been brought to my attention and to ensure that the integrity of the Northern Territory Police Force is maintained,” Acting Commissioner Kershaw said.

“The community of the Northern Territory should continue to have full confidence in the NT Police Force and its serving Police Officers, who keep people safe and carry out their duties diligently, effectively and with integrity.

As the matters that led to the suspension are under investigation, NT Police will not be making any further comment at this point in time,” Acting Commissioner Kershaw said.
