Robbery and Unlawful Entry Arrests - Darwin

Police

Police have arrested three male youths following an alleged robbery and unlawful entry which occurred in Darwin’s Northern Suburbs early this morning.

Detective Senior Constable Andrew Nicholson from the Serious Crime Squad said Police received reports of the robbery of a Taxi at approximately 3:15am.

“It is alleged a 31-year-old male Taxi driver was travelling on VRD Drive in Leanyer when he stopped the car and was struck by a dark coloured utility which had crossed into his path.

“It is believed two males from the offending vehicle rummaged around inside the Taxi, stole a small quantity of cash and left the scene in the utility.

“Police allege the same youths were involved in an unlawful entry at a home on Banyan Street in Fannie Bay approximately one hour later.

“A number of items were stolen from the residence, including a handbag, mobile phone and personal items.

“The three males, two aged 15 and a 16-year-old were arrested this morning and remain in Police custody assisting with enquiries.”
