National Missing Persons Week: Where is Andrew Cooper?

National Missing Persons Week (NMPW) is an annual event that takes place during the first week of August. NMPW aims to raise community awareness of the significant issues and impacts associated with missing persons in Australia.

Police were alerted to the disappearance of Andrew Cooper from Katherine at 8.30am on Thursday 5 February.

Andrew Cooper was last seen at a residence in Maluka Road, Katherine East in the early hours of Thursday 5 February.

Local Police as well as officers from the Darwin Metropolitan Command and Missing Persons Unit have been unable to locate Mr Cooper. Katherine Police conducted extensive searches by foot, in vehicles and a helicopter.

Unfortunately his whereabouts remains unknown.

Andrew Cooper is a 46-year-old Aboriginal male and is described as being approximately 180cm tall and of a medium build. He has curly black / grey hair and a ‘goatee’ beard. He was last seen wearing a pair of blue denim shorts with no shirt and was possibly carrying a yellow Dolphin brand torch. Mr Cooper was also wearing a metal brace on his left arm which was fitted between his left wrist and elbow.
