Methamphetamine Seized - Darwin

Police

Members from the Drug and Organised Crime Squad have charged a 23-year-old man following the seizure of 27 grams of methamphetamine at Darwin Airport.

Detective Superintendent Tony Fuller said Police subjected the man to a search as he left the airport at around 1pm yesterday.

“Police allegedly located a trafficable quantity of methamphetamine concealed on his person.

“Police will allege the man travelled interstate to purchase the drug to sell in Darwin.”

He was charged with possess and supply methamphetamine.

He will appear in Darwin Magistrates Court on 17 March.

“Crystal methamphetamine is a highly addictive and dangerous drug that destroys lives of those who use it and of those around them,” Detective Superintendent Fuller said.

“If you truly care about your friends and family then stay away from this drug. Those selling it are only interested in the profit, not you.”
