Northern Territory Police have charged a 37-year-old man following four serious family violence incidents in Darwin.
Detective Sergeant Justene Dwyer from the Domestic and Family Violence Unit said the Territory Response Group arrested a man without incident at 10pm last night.
“A joint investigation conducted by the Serious Crime Squad and the Domestic Violence Unit led to the arrest of a man wanted in relation to these offences,” Detective Sergeant Justene Dwyer said.
The man has been charged with:
- Aggravated assault (x5)
- Sexual intercourse without consent
- Deprive a person of personal liberty
- Drive vehicle with suspended entitlement (x2)
- Possess/carry/use controlled weapon – night
- Possess methamphetamine
The man has been refused Police bail, ahead of an appearance before Darwin Magistrates Court.
