Gangs Taskforce Members have charged a 47-year-old former Rebels Sergeant at Arms from Melbourne with drug offences following a traffic apprehension in Darwin.
Senior Constable Danny Srhoj from the Drug and Organised Crime Section said Police were alerted to the man following a verbal dispute at a Jingili hotel.
“Upon leaving the room, the man was pulled over on Henry Wrigley Drive just before 7:00 pm on 15 September 2015.
“General Duties Police conducted a search of his vehicle and located a quantity of drugs. As a result Gang Task Force members attended and a further 17 grams of methamphetamine, three Lysergic Acid tablets (LSD), and an 80 gram block of cannabis resin also known as Hashish was located. Police then searched the hotel room occupied by the male, and a further 58 grams of cannabis was found.”
The man was interviewed by Police yesterday and charged with:
- Possess methamphetamine – traffickable
- Possess lysergic acid – commercial
- Possess cannabis – trafficable (x2)
- Possess thing to administer dangerous drug
He will appear in Darwin Magistrates Court today.
