Northern Territory Police have charged a 20-year-old man with multiple domestic violence offences upon his partner.
Superintendent Kris Evans said the man was arrested yesterday by Strike Force Viridian Detectives for offences dating back to January 2015.
He was charged with:
- Aggravated assault (x6)
- Armed with an offensive weapon (x8)
- Threats to kill (x2)
- Recklessly endanger serious harm (x2)
- Unlawfully cause serious harm
- Damage to property
- Trespass
He was remanded in custody to appear in Darwin Magistrates Court on 1 July 2015.
“Violence of any kind is terrible but it is particularly appalling when it occurs within a family setting. We encourage everyone to speak up and report all acts of domestic violence to Police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.”
