NT Police charged a 22-year-old man last night for aggravated assault against his 22-year-old wife.
Detective Senior Sergeant Peter Malley said the man was arrested by members of Strike Force Romulus.
“The man, who is a high risk repeat family violence offender, allegedly engaged in series of arguments and acts of violence against his wife on 20 November 2015.”
He was arrested around 12:00pm 7 December and was charged with:
- Aggravated assault
- Armed with offensive weapon at night
Bail was refused and he will appear in the Alice Springs Court today.
“Domestic violence is a crime and will not be tolerated by Police. Strike Force Romulus is committed to reducing domestic violence in Alice Springs by 10%,” said Detective Senior Sergeant Malley.
