Detectives from Strike Force Romulus arrested a man in Alice Springs last night after multiple aggravated assault incidents.
Detective Senior Sergeant Peter Malley said Police allege the man, aged 28-years, was involved in several offences and was issued a warrant of apprehension for breaching conditions of his suspended sentence.
“Police allege that on 22August the offender physically assaulted a woman near an Alice Springs town camp.
“A warrant of apprehension was issued for the offender’s arrest on 5 October, for breaching conditions of his suspended sentence.
“On 8 October it is alleged the offender was involved in another incident on a remote community, where he assaulted a male causing him to lose consciousness.
“It was reported that offender was also involved in another incident in a remote community, assaulting a woman on 19October.
“At about 3:00am on 27 October, the male was arrested in Alice Springs and conveyed to the Alice Springs Watch House.”
He was charged with the following offences:
- Aggravated Assault x 3
- Armed with Offensive Weapon
Bail was opposed by Police and he will appear in court on 28 October 2015.
