NT Police have arrested a 19-year-old man in relation to a series of indecent assaults in the Northern Suburbs between 19 November and 14 December.

Detective Acting Sergeant Andrew Kren of the Sex Crimes Unit said police operations conducted in the area last week identified a male person of interest.

“Subsequent enquiries have resulted in a man’s arrest today and we will allege that he was responsible for seven indecent assaults on women out walking in the early evenings and mornings around Anula,” he said.

“This arrest was the culmination of excellent work by the Sex Crimes Unit with significant assistance from support services and the Darwin Metropolitan Service Command.”

Investigations are continuing and no formal charges have yet been laid.
