Detectives from the Sex Crimes Unit have arrested and charged a 30-year-old male with four counts of gross indecency in a public place.

Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Janelle Tonkin said the male was also charged with unlawful stalking.

“Police were contacted by a female resident of an inner-city apartment complex on 7 February, stating a naked male was standing outside the front of her unit.

“Fortunately, although shocked, the woman had the presence of mind to photograph the male with her mobile phone.

“Investigations by Police from Darwin Station, Forensics and the Sex Crimes Unit resulted in the arrest of a male on 14 February.”

The male was remanded in custody to appear in the Darwin Magistrates Court on 16 March 2015.
