The Northern Territory road toll has risen to 31 following the death of a motorist in Wadeye this afternoon.

Wadeye Police and staff from the local clinic attended the single vehicle rollover and confirmed one male deceased. Injuries sustained by a second occupant of the vehicle are at this stage unknown.

Major Crash investigators are being deployed and a formal investigation will be undertaken.

Factors leading to the crash are unknown at this time.

The road toll at the same time last year stood at 27.
