A man has died after being struck by a light truck this morning in Elliott at about 6.45am.

“It is understood the deceased got off a bus this morning, and that he had been seen behaving in an erratic manner in Elliott before he was struck by a passing vehicle,” Territory Duty Superintendent Bob Harrison said.

“Members of the local clinic tried to resuscitate the man however he passed way this morning.”

This now brings the NT road toll to 23, compared with 21 for the same time last year. 

The Major Crash Unit is investigating the incident and a file will be prepared for the Coroner.
