A 30-year-old woman and 41-year-old man have been charged with drug offences following the discovery of an illicit drug laboratory in Gillen yesterday.

Detective Superintendent Brent Warren said members from the Drugs and Organised Crime Division, Illicit Drug Laboratory Team, Southern Drug Investigation Unit, Forensics and Northern Territory Fire Services executed a search warrant at the residence at around 11:45am.

“Police located and seized over 260ml of liquid which is believed to contain methamphetamine and items other used to manufacture dangerous drugs.”

The pair were arrested and charged with:

Manufacture a schedule 1 drug – commercial quantity

Possess schedule 1 drug – commercial quantity

Supply dangerous drug

Administer dangerous drug to self

They will appear in Alice Springs Magistrates Court this afternoon.
