Alice Springs Police have arrested a 41-year-old man in relation to breaching a Domestic Violence Order (DVO).

Detective Superintendent Brent Warren said the alleged offender was issued a DVO in South Australia for the aggravated assault of his 30-year-old wife.

“Strike Force Romulus received information from the Domestic Violence Cross Border Intelligence Desk the 41-year-old man was in Alice Springs and in breach of his DVO conditions.”

He was arrested by Detectives yesterday, was remanded in custody and will appear in Alice Springs Magistrates Court on 13 May.

“With the assistance of the Cross Border Intelligence Desk, Police will continue to closely monitor the movements of domestic violence offenders across the Northern Territory and beyond our borders, Superintendent Warren said.

“Police will continue to take a zero tolerance approach to violence of any kind. Safety is everyone’s right and we will hold offenders to account for their actions.”
