Domestic Violence Charges – Alice Springs

Alice Springs Police have charged a 37-year-old man with breach of a domestic violence order and drug offences.

Acting Senior Sergeant Tony Henrys from the Major Crime Squad said the man was arrested following the death of a 32-year-old female in Alice Springs in the early hours of Sunday 29 March 2015.

“He has been charged with breach of domestic violence order, possess dangerous drug - trafficable quantity and supply dangerous drug.”

He will appear in Alice Springs Magistrates Court today.

“The investigation to date has not revealed sufficient evidence to charge any individual with the death of the female,” said Acting Senior Sergeant Henrys.

“The matter is still considered suspicious and our investigation remains ongoing to establish the circumstance of her death.

“Police are still seeking witnesses to the incident which is believed to have taken place in a residence on Bokhara Street Larrapinta during the early hours of Sunday morning.
