Police have arrested and charged five youths following a recent crime spree in Darwin.
Detective Senior Sergeant Mark Bland from Strike Force Trident said the youths aged between 13 and 17-years-old allegedly stole a large quantity of property from numerous unlawful entries and car thefts last week, before being arrested after they rolled a stolen motor vehicle in Pinelands on Saturday.
“The total value of property stolen from the five day crime spree is approximately $220,000.”
Two females aged 16 and 17 and a 16-year-old male were charged with:
- Aggravated unlawful entry (x45)
- Stealing (x48)
- Aggravated unlawful use of a motor vehicle (x27)
- Damage to property (x18)
- Trespass on premises (x12)
- Drive a motor vehicle while unlicensed (x3)
- Drive a motor vehicle with drug in blood (x2)
- Drive in a dangerous manner (x2)
- Fail to obey direction of police officer (x2)
- Failure to stop after crash
- Assault
They will appear in Darwin Magistrates Court today.
A 14-year-old male was charged with:
- Aggravated unlawful entry (x15)
- Stealing (x16)
- Aggravated unlawful use of a motor vehicle (x9)
- Damage to property (x6)
- Trespass on premises (x4)
A 13-year-old female was charged with:
Aggravated unlawful use of a motor vehicle.
