Crashes - Woman Charged - Darwin

Detectives from the Serious Crime Squad have charged a 35-year-old woman after she allegedly crashed into several cars in Darwin and the rural area on Sunday

Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Annette Cooper said Police alleged the woman crashed into a parked car in Stuart Park before crashing into a Toyota four-wheel drive at the intersection of Snell Street and the Stuart Highway.

“Police located the vehicle in bushland near Henry Wrigley Drive and it is alleged the woman accelerated towards Police narrowly missing one of the Officers before driving away.

“It is alleged the 35-year-old woman actively evaded Police, damaging three Police vehicles before being apprehended in Humpty Doo where the woman was arrested.”

She was charged with:

Disorderly behaviour

Stealing

Unlawfully damage property (x5)

Recklessly endangering life (x2)

Dangerous driving during a pursuit

She will appear in Darwin Magistrates Court today.
