Charges – Sexual Assault – Alice Springs

Northern Territory Police have charged a 44-year-old man following an incident in Alice Springs earlier this month.

“Police allege the man approached a 52-year-old woman in the Todd Mall near Flynn Church just after midnight on 14 July 2015,” Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Leith Phillips said.

“It is alleged that he sexually assaulted her, after which he stole her mobile phone and fled the scene.

“Investigations led to the man’s arrest in Alice Springs on 24 July 2015.”

He has been charged with:

  • Sexual intercourse without consent
  • Aggravated assault
  • Stealing.

He has been remanded in custody to appear in the Alice Springs Magistrate’s Court.
