Charges - Produce Methamphetamine

Joint Task Force Nemesis Detectives have charged three people following the execution of two search warrants in Marrakai yesterday.

Detective Acting Superintendent Clint Sims said a 42-year-old man was arrested following the discovery of eight cannabis plants at a property.

“He was issued with a Notice to Appear for the offence of cultivation of cannabis, he will appear in Darwin Magistrates Court on a later date.

“Later that morning Detectives arrested a male and female after a clandestine methamphetamine laboratory was located stored in a suitcase at a separate property. 

“A quantity of controlled glassware and precursor chemicals were also located. Police will allege that these chemicals and apparatus were being used in the manufacture of methamphetamine.”

A 50-year-old female and a 44-year-old male were charged with:

  • Produce methamphetamine
  • Possess article to manufacture a dangerous drug
  • Possess precursor to a dangerous drug.

They will appear in Darwin Magistrates Court today.
