Call for public assistance – Assault – Fannie Bay

Northern Territory Police are calling for public assistance following an incident that occurred in Fannie Bay.

Detective Sergeant Matt Akers said Police and St John Ambulance were called to a park on East Point Road just after 8:00am on Monday 2 November.

“An Indigenous male aged 51 was found unconscious. He was transported to Royal Darwin Hospital where subsequent medical examinations revealed injuries consistent with an assault.  The man remains in Royal Darwin Hospital in a critical condition.”

Police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident, and call for anyone with any information.

“In particular we would like to speak with anyone who may have witnessed any altercations in the Fannie Bay area between Sunday 1 November and 8am on Monday to contact us on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000,” said Detective Sergeant Akers.
