Call for public assistance – Aggravated Assault – Darwin CBD

Northern Territory Police are calling for public assistance following an aggravated assault in Darwin CBD.

Sergeant Drew Slape said the incident occurred just before 9:00pm on Sunday 2 August.    

“A 45 year-old male was approached at a Mitchell Street venue by an unknown male, before being pushed to the ground and kicked unconscious. 

“The alleged offender is described as being of Caucasian appearance, of thin build, aged in his early 20s, with short dark hair.  He was wearing black shorts, a grey and white t-shirt with a black pocket and black and white shoes.

“We are appalled at this cowardly attack, as these acts have the potential to cause serious injury or death.

“We urge anyone who may have witnessed the incident or anyone who may recognise the individual described to contact Police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.”
