Strike Force Romulus Detectives working with remote Police have charged a 42-year-old man following the alleged assault of a 33-year-old man in Alice Springs.

Detective Superintendent Brent Warren said it is alleged the two men were involved in an altercation at a residence in Alice Springs on 6 December.

“It is alleged the offender struck the victim before he stabbed him. The victim received treatment for injuries to his chest leg and face.

“The alleged offender handed himself into Police yesterday. He was charged with unlawfully cause serious harm and armed with an offensive weapon at night.

He will appear in Papunya Court today.
