Assault Charges - Alice Springs

Alice Springs Police have arrested four people in three separate incidents over the weekend in relation to domestic and family violence and assaults.

Senior Sergeant Neil Hayes said, “Police responded to one incident at around 3.45pm Sunday involving a 24-year-old male allegedly assaulting a 56-year-old male with a weapon. He was arrested without incident and has been remanded in custody.”

The 24-year-old was charged with:

Assault – threaten with firearm
Armed with an offensive weapon

“Earlier on Saturday 23 May, Alice Springs Police members arrested a 30-year-old man in relation to the alleged assault of his 29-year-old partner.

“He was charged with assault a female and make threats to kill.

“A 23-year-old woman has been charged with assault person who suffered harm and armed with an offensive weapon after allegedly assaulting an 18-year-old woman.

“A 25-year-old male has been charged with assault a female, after an alleged assault occurring on 16 May against his 20-year-old female partner.

“Violence has no place in relationships or in Alice Springs and we will continue to target those who chose to commit these acts.
