Arrest – Armed Person – Malak

Police

Northern Territory Police have successfully negotiated the surrender of a man following a three-hour standoff in Malak.

Police were called to a residence at about 1:30pm on Sunday 26 July following reports that after a domestic incident a 27-year-old man was smashing windows with a spade.

On arrival of Police the man barricaded himself inside the house. Members from the Metropolitan Patrol Group attended, secured the scene and commenced negotiations.

Negotiations continued for three hours before the man agreed to surrender and was taken into custody without further incident.

Investigations are ongoing.
