Aggravated Assault - Man Charged - Alice Springs

Strike Force Romulus Detectives have charged a 40-year-old man in relation to the aggravated assault of his 37-year-old partner.

Detective Superintendent Brent Warren said Police allege the male struck the victim and threatened her with a knife on the 8 April, the woman sustained injuries to her face and arm.

“The man was charged yesterday with aggravated assault, threats to cause injury and armed with an offensive weapon. He was also served a Domestic Violence Order.”

He was bailed to appear in Alice Springs Magistrates Court on 9 June.

“Strike Force Romulus will continue their zero tolerance approach towards domestic violence assaults, and encourage members of the public to report all acts of Domestic and Family Violence to Police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000,” Detective Superintendent Warren said.
