Detectives from the Southern Investigation Division have charged a 40-year-old man following the alleged aggravated assault of a 63-year-old woman.

Detective Senior Sergeant Peter Dash said the pair are known to one another and it is alleged the offender assaulted the victim on six separate occasions between 24 and 27 August.

“Police arrested the man on Saturday and charged him with six counts of aggravated assault.

“He was remanded in custody and will appear in Alice Springs Magistrates Court today.
