Youth Charged for Crime Spree – Alice Springs

Strike Force Vega Detectives arrested a 12-year-old male youth yesterday following a five day crime spree in Alice Springs.

Superintendent Brent Warren said the youth, in the company of co-offenders, were allegedly involved in six unlawful entries, an interfere with a motor vehicle and a rock throwing incident.

“It is alleged the youth unlawfully entered residences in Alice Springs, Braitling and Gillen between 7 and 11 June, stealing numerous items and causing thousands of dollars worth of damage,” Superintendent Warren said.

The youth was taken into custody and charged with:

Unlawful entry of a dwelling (x3)

Unlawful entry of a building (x3)

Stealing (x5)

Damage to property (x4)

Interfere with motor vehicle.

He was bailed to appear in the Alice Springs Youth Justice Court on 23 June 2014.

Investigations into possible co-offenders are continuing.
