Police

A 13-year-old male has been apprehended after a neighbour caught him allegedly breaking into a residence in Gillen yesterday.

Detective Superintendent Brent Warren said Police will allege that the youth attempted to unlawfully enter a residence at around 12pm and caused around $700 worth of damage.

“The youth was apprehended a short time later after a neighbour took a photo of the alleged offender attempting to enter the house and supplied the picture to Police.”

The 13-year-old will now receive Youth Diversion.

“This is a great example of the local community and Police working together to combat property crime in Alice Springs,” Detective Superintendent Warren said.
