A 49-year-old woman will appear in Darwin Magistrates Court tomorrow charged with 25 counts of criminal deception.
Sergeant Kirk Pennutto of Darwin Police said the offender was staying with a 77-year-old man at a residence in Coconut Grove between 16 August and 4 September.
“Police allege that during this time the offender stole cash, alcohol, a mobile phone and a bank card. Police allege the offender used the bank card to withdraw $8,200 from various ATMs around Darwin.
“Police arrested the woman at a residence in Coconut Grove today in possession of temazepam and morphine.”
She has been charged with:
Obtain property by deception – criminal deception (x25)
Stealing (x13)
Attempt to obtain property by deception – attempt criminal deception (x5)
Possess poison
Possess schedule 4 drug
She is remanded in custody to appear tomorrow.
