Police are currently searching for two prisoners who escaped from the Darwin Correctional Facility this afternoon.

Detective Senior Sergeant Peter Schiller from Serious Crime Squad said the two men were in the minimum security section of the prison.

“Escapees Ronald Kelly and Graham Cowen were last sighted at 1410hrs and went missing from the low security units.

“If anyone sees either of these men, or has information relating to their whereabouts, Police urge them not to approach the men but to contact Police immediately on 131 444, “said Detective Senior Sergeant Schiller.
