Suspicious Person Leanyer

NT Police are calling for public assistance after receiving a report of suspicious behaviour in Leanyer on Tuesday.

Senior Sergeant Shaun Furniss said it is alleged a male approached a 15 year old female after she got off a bus around 2:35 pm.

“The female told police when she was approached by the man on Ridgehaven Street who asked her to get into his car.

“They girl ran from the area and hid until a friend arrived. The matter was reported to Police later in the day. 

Senior Sergeant Furniss would like to talk to anyone who may have seen a man in the vicinity of Leanyer Drive and Saddle Court between 2 and 3pm on Tuesday.

The male is described as being Caucasian in appearance with very pale skin, believed to be in his late 30’s or early 40’s, skinny build with short dark straight hair. He was described as wearing a white singlet and sunglasses.

He is believed to be driving a faded red sedan.

“High visibility Police patrols have been conducted around the area.

“The behaviour is concerning and Police would like to speak with anyone who may have information about the incident. Contact Police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.”
