Public Assistance Required – Assault – Alice Springs

Southern Investigations Detectives have released a comfit image of the alleged offender in an assault that occurred on Gregory Terrace, Alice Springs, on the evening of Friday, July 11, 2014.

Detective Senior Constable Gavin Hopwood said the alleged offender is described as Caucasian, aged in his late-teens or early twenties, of slim build and approximately 180 cm tall.

“The male was wearing a black ‘hoodie’ with unidentified writing on the front and white draw strings hanging from the hood.

“He was wearing dark, possibly black, long trousers and red canvas shoes with white soles, similar to boating shoes.”

Detective Senior Constable Hopwood said Police believe the assault was unprovoked and left a 39-year-old man with facial injuries.

“The victim was packing up furniture around 10pm at night when the alleged assault occurred.

“Police urge anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who recognises the image to please contact the Police Assistance Line on 131 444 or contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

“Investigations into this incident continue.”
