Motor Vehicle Theft - Tennant Creek

A 65-year-old man has been arrested by Tennant Creek Police following the theft of a motor vehicle in Darwin.

Acting Sergeant Paul Parkanyi said the offender allegedly stole a BMW sedan from a Darwin car yard on 20 October and drove the vehicle to Tennant Creek.

“Police allege the 65-year-old man profited from the unlawful sale of four vehicles whilst working at the car dealership in Darwin.

“Tennant Creek Police arrested him on Friday. The arrest was a direct result of intelligence led Policing by Strike Force Trident and General Duties Members.”

He was charged with:

Stealing

Aggravated unlawful use of a motor vehicle

Obtain benefit by deception (x4)

He was remanded to appear in the Alice Springs Magistrates Court today.
