Police have recovered biological remains inside a two metre crocodile near the beach at Pirlangimpi Community.

Senior Sergeant Antony Deutrom said local community members recovered the remains yesterday afternoon and reported it to Police.

“Local Police and community members are following up inquiries and additional resources are being sent from Darwin.

“At this stage it is unknown if the remains are human and testing will be undertaken.

“Police continue to hold concerns for missing 22-year-old man Travis Costa, who was last seen by family members in Pirlangimpi on Friday night, 1 August.

“This is a very distressing time for the family and community. Police would like to acknowledge the efforts and contribution of the community in the search to date.”
