Members from the Northern Territory Police Gangs Taskforce have seized 28 grams of methamphetamine following a traffic apprehension in Yarrawonga.
Detective Superintendent Clint Sims said two women aged 52 and 20 were taken into custody late on Friday night.
“Officers searched the vehicle and allegedly discovered methamphetamine, a glass pipe and three mobile phones.
“After further investigation the 20-year-old was released without charge while the 52-year-old has been charged with possession of a trafficable amount of a schedule one substance and possession of an implement used to administer a dangerous drug.”
The woman was remanded in custody to appear in the Darwin Magistrates Court this afternoon.
“Police will continue to target people who intentionally cause harm in our community through illicit drugs. Someone with over 14 times a trafficable quantity in their possession is obviously set on profiting from the harm caused to others,” Detective Superintendent Sims said.
