Man Charged with Property Offences - Darwin

A 28-year-old man will appear in Darwin Magistrates Court today in relation to a series of property offences, including the theft of three vehicles.

Detective Senior Sergeant Mark Stringer said Police allege the man unlawfully entered a motorcycle business in Winnellie early Tuesday morning and stole a Harley Davidson valued at $26,000.

“Police recovered the motorcycle at a residence in Gray on Wednesday. The motorcycle sustained damaged consistent with a crash.

“Police allege the offender also stole a Land Cruiser from a residence in Gray on Wednesday. Police later recovered the vehicle in Jingili.

“Police allege the offender stole a third vehicle from Woodroffe on Monday, the Holden Commodore was involved in a service station drive off minutes later. Police recovered the vehicle at the Airport.

“The 28-year-old man was arrested at Darwin Airport on Wednesday in possession with several of stolen passports. Police allege the man also attempted to use a stolen credit card to withdraw cash prior to his arrest.”

He was charged with:

Stealing (x4)

Trespass (x3)

Aggravated unlawful use of motor vehicle (x3)

Driving whilst unlicensed (x3)

Breach of bail

Aggravated unlawful entry

Damage to property

Criminal deception.
