Man Charged - Fireworks Incident - Alice Springs

A 28-year-old man has been charged following an alleged attempted arson incident at the Alice Springs Police Station early this morning.

Superintendent Brent Warren said it is believed the man attended the Police station at around 4:30am and ignited a quantity of fireworks at the front door.

The man attended the front counter of the Police station at around 3:30pm and was taken into custody.

He is charged with:

    Damage to property

    Possess fireworks outside approved period

    Throw/ignite/explode fireworks outside approved period.

He was issued with an Alcohol Protection Order and released on bail to appear in the Alice Springs Magistrates Court on 30 June, 2014.
