Five Youths Injured in Crash - Alice Springs

Northern Territory Police are investigating a single vehicle roll-over in Alice Springs early this morning.

Superintendent Travis Wurst said five male youths, aged 15, 13, 12, 11 and 10 were injured in the crash which occurred on a dirt road near Charles Creek at about 2am.

“The vehicle was allegedly being driven by the 12-year-old when a loss of control resulted in the car rolling over and hitting a tree.

“The occupants were conveyed to Alice Spring Hospital with various injuries, none of which are considered life-threatening.”

“Preliminary investigations suggest the vehicle had been stolen earlier in the night from a business in Alice Springs, sometime between 10pm and 1am this morning.

“Police had attempted to engage with the occupants of the vehicle shortly before it crashed.

“Investigations into this incident are continuing.”
