Members from Major Crash are investigating the death of a 38-year-old man, involved in a single motorcycle crash in Southport.
Sergeant Mark Casey from the Major Crash Investigation Section said it appears the man was riding with a group of friends along Cox Peninsula Road on Friday afternoon when he became separated from the group.
“The man’s friends and family launched an extensive search when he failed to meet at the designated rendezvous point later that day,” Sergeant Casey said.
“The man was located deceased last night in scrubland off the Cox Peninsula Road.
“Investigations into the exact circumstances surrounding the crash are continuing and Police urge anyone who may have witnessed the crash, or who may have any information, to contact them on 131 444.”
The NT road toll now stands at six compared to three for the same time last year.
