The NT road toll has risen to 28 following the death of a 36-year-old man overnight, involved in a rollover approximately 25km from Daly River.

Territory Duty Superintendent Delcene Jones said the 36-year-old man was driving a Toyota Land Cruiser along Daly River Road when the incident occurred.

“It is believed the driver lost control of the vehicle around a bend, causing it to roll.

“The driver passed away at the scene.

“The four male passengers were conveyed to Daly River Clinic and treated for minor injuries.”

Major Crash Investigators are at the scene, working to establish the exact circumstances surrounding the crash.

Motorists are advised that the road remains blocked at this time.

The road toll for the same time last year stood at 24.
